Local Remembrance Day Ceremonies

Remembrance Day ceremonies in Amherst start Sunday at 11:45 at the cenotaph in Victoria Square. Then there is a parade to Trinity St Stephens Church for the Wreath Laying Ceremony.

In Sackville the parade will form up at 9:15 in front of the Sackville Legion, then march off to Convocation Hall for the Remembrance Day Service. Following the service there will be a march to the Cenotaph for the laying of wreaths and crosses, then returning to the Legion for a stand to.

In Springhill the Remembrance Day service will be held at St Andrews Wesley United Church at 10. The Springhill Baptist Church will be holding a pot luck supper at 5, then a service at 6.

Oxford Legion Br # 36 will host Remembrance Day events beginning at 9:15 with a church service at the Presbyterian Church. At 10:15 the Parade will form at the Legion Hall and proceed to the cenotaph for a 10:30 service. There will hot drinks and treats after the service.

In Parrsboro there will be an Ecumenical Service at the Legion at 10. Following the service Legion members will march to the cenotaph for the laying of wreaths. ( If the weather is too cold or inclement wreaths will be laid in the Legion Hall.
